WINFAB – Wallonia Infrastructure for Micro- et Nano-FABrication

Winfab is the technological platform dedicated to micro- and nano-fabrication within the science and technology sector (SST) of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). The platform maintains a 1000 m2 cleanroom infrastructure spread on two levels, with a large high-tech equipment fleet (more than 50 machines), and offers an access to a wide range of advanced techniques for thin-films deposition, thin-films etching, surface patterning, micromachining and back-end processes. Originally focused on silicon microelectronics technology, Winfab is a now multidisciplinary platform active in various research and technological fields, including SOI (silicon-on-insulator) CMOS microelectronics, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), lab-on-chip devices, sensors, solar cells, batteries, bio-technologies, nanoelectronics, 2D materials (graphene, …), photonics devices, organic electronics, …
