Technology Platform of Excellence –
BIOGREEN
As part of the Walloon Recovery Plan, SPW Recherche has provided the five universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation with 31 million euros in funding to develop a technological excellence platform dedicated to energy transition and biomaterials.
The BIOGREEN Technology Platform of Excellence aims to pool equipment and scientific skills in biomaterials and energy transition within the French-speaking community of Belgium. It is part of a dynamic of research, innovation and collaboration with companies, promoting sustainable development and eco-design.

OBJECTIVES OF THE “BIOGREEN” PLATFORM
Enhance the value of renewable resources to produce new materials, energy or high value-added molecules.
Develop the production of biomaterials combining high-tech materials with molecules or cells enabling the generation of innovative systems for therapeutic, diagnostic or biotechnological purposes.
Stimulate research and innovation, while facilitating Walloon companies’ investment in sustainable development.
