Technology Platform of Excellence –
ENERGY TRANSITION
The “Environment and Energy Transition” Technology Platform of Excellence aims to provide the five universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation with cutting-edge research facilities to support the regional and European energy transition.
Its ambition is to unite university skills around a common platform, encouraging synergies and the valorisation of scientific results.
This initiative will enhance the international visibility of Belgium’s French-speaking universities and their ability to attract top-level researchers. The facilities are organised into seven technology sub-platforms.
The overall objective is to design and manage innovative, sustainable and integrated energy systems.
The Research Platform for Energy Transition is funded by the European Union and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation to the tune of 28.5 million euros.
