Collaboration, structuring and ecosystem: these are three words to remember for the year 2022 of the LiEU Network. Indeed, this year saw the submission of our ERDF MIRVALIS project: our joint response to economic and societal challenges through innovation and the transfer of technology and knowledge. MIRVALIS is the heir to the MIRVAL and MIRVAL+ projects. Like its predecessors, it draws its essence from collaborations and synergies between the universities’ KTOs.
In order to respond to these challenges, the LiEU Network is more than ever the unique interlocutor and showcase of university research to Walloon socio-economic actors. To this end, we have referents linked to the Walloon strategic axes through the Strategic Innovation Domains (SIDs), the Strategic Innovation Initiatives (SIIs), the competitiveness clusters and the clusters. The referents are the focal points for Walloon innovation actors as well as our international partners such as Wallonie-Bruxelles International and AWEX.
The coming year will be one of celebration: 20 years of the LiEU Network! 20 years at the service of researchers and innovation, 20 years dedicated to collaborations with partners from the Walloon socio-economic world, to the protection and maturation of research results, to their transfer into society and to the creation of spin-offs.
These achievements are made possible thanks to the constantly renewed involvement of the teams and the unfailing support of the authorities of our institutions, the SPW Research and the cabinet of the Minister of Economy, Research and Innovation of the Walloon Region.
