The expertise of the Synthesis, Irradiation & Analysis of Materials (SIAM) platform in materials characterization is based on its ability to use and combine different spectroscopies (XPS, ToF-SIMS & IBA). These techniques enable a comprehensive assessment of almost any type of sample: metals, welds, glass, polymers, powders, liquids, in vivo biological material, etc.
SIAM has several facilities for functionalizing materials and/or synthesizing thin films by plasma treatment.
Our experience, gained from a number of projects funded by the regional and European Commissions, qualifies us to analyze complex samples such as nanoparticles in complex matrices (foodstuffs, culture media, cells from in vitro experiments and organs from in vivo experiments).
